Biography

Dan Cutforth co-founded Magical Elves with Jane Lipsitz in 2001 and went on to executive produce hit shows for NBC, ABC, Bravo, Showtime, TNT, Oxygen, USA, and HBO, including "Top Chef", "Project Runway", "Project Greenlight", "Cold Justice", "Braxton Family Values", "Tamar & Vince", "Top Chef Jr", "Top Chef Masters", "Top Chef Just Desserts", "Real L-Word", "Last Comic Standing" and "Treasure Hunters".

Born and raised in England, Dan started his career at the BBC in 1990 as a researcher in the light entertainment department, and moved to independent production company Planet 24 to join the team that launched anarchic and influential morning show "The Big Breakfast".

In the mid-‘90s, Cutforth moved to New York to head up US operations for Planet 24 and helped develop hit show "Survivor". He later went on to produce two seasons of the prime time series "Whose Line is it Anyway?", before joining forces with Jane Lipsitz to create "Bands on the Run" for VH1.
